A Charming Pillow

I am not a sewer, I'm sure this pillow is not
made quite right. I'd love to learn how to sew
properly but I never take the time to
practice or read up on sewing.
I just get an idea and run with it, and however
it turns out is okay with me!

I love Moda Fabrics...they have so many collections and each and every one is beautiful.
I had a couple of their Charm Packs  and decided to make this pillow.

I am terrible with giving sewing
instructions, but here it goes.

I used 24 blocks, sewn together 4 at
a time with a 1/4" seam.
Arrange the blocks in a 6 x 4 pattern and sew
the blocks together in rows. When finished you'll have 8 blocks down and 4 across.
Fold material in half, pattern sides together.
Sew the sides, turn right side out, slip in your pillow form and then close off your pillow in  your favorite stitch.

I added the buttons to the center,
just make sure your needle is long enough
to go through the pillow.

Here is the other side.

Sarah if this is what you do not knowing how to sew, I can only imagine what you could create if you ever take the time to learn more. Fabulous job and I've been sewing for more than 40yrs. A pillow is the perfect type of project for a beginner, sew simple and little mistakes don't show so you don't get discouraged and give up. Very inspiring post!
Thanks so much for linking it at Frugal Treasures Tuesday! Hmmmm!! I'm supposed to help a friend start sewing soon. Maybe I'll make it part of a running post to assist other beginners in taking that first step. -_^ What do you think?

Love this patchwork pillow! I used your instructions and made a patriotic one for my couch. Here are pictures if you would like to see the finished product:

Just a note, you might want to change the 8 x 4 pattern in your instructions to 6 x 4 pattern. Thanks!

I absolutely love this pillow! I want to make something with a charm pack and this is motivating to take the plunge. I would love it if you'd stop by and link up at Off the Hook.
