Lemon Partridgeberry Muffins...or Cranberry...or Blueberry



Partridgeberries...

perhaps some of you have never heard of them. 
They grow in the wild here in

Newfoundland & Labrador. 

They are most commonly used here 
to make jams,sauces and baked goods.

The fruit is sour but so good!

Partridgeberries have numerous other names like
lingonberry, cowberry, foxberry, quailberry,
beaverberry, mountain cranberry, lowbush cranberry,
and a few others.

The berries freeze well and last a couple of years in the freezer.

We love them!

Oh, I know them as lingonberries, but they do not naturally grow here, so you are lucky. I have only had them on Swedish pancakes, they are wonderful Thanks for telling me about them...with all of their names. Mary

Low bush cranberries is what I've heard them called here in Northwestern Ontario. I have yet to use them, but this sounds yummy good and ispiring to do some picking :) Thanks for sharing, mmmmm

Sounds delicious! I had never heard of partridgeberries! I had heard of lingonberries. Neither of which are common here in Georgia (unless you go to IKEA). Thanks for the recipe!

I had never heard of a partridgeberry so if you would of said it only grows by a pear tree I would of had to look it up.

Partridgeberries are new to me too. If I ever see them, I'll definitely give them a try. And I love lemon, so I'll definitely try the recipe with some other fruits soon!
